Julie Bishop is an experienced attorney in commercial, technology transactions, and data privacy practices. She has been practicing law for over 25 years, with most of her experience as an in-house attorney in public and private companies focused in the technology space.
Before joining Tactical Law, Julie was Vice President and Global Lead Counsel, of Data Privacy, Information Security and Regulatory Compliance at Avanade Inc. (a joint venture between Microsoft and Accenture), where she led a team of attorneys responsible for regulatory compliance across 23 affiliate entities. Prior to taking on that role, Julie was Global Lead Counsel of IT Offerings, where she led the global legal support for the Cloud and Unified Communications and Collaboration Services Business Unit. Julie’s experience has included working with many executives at a global level on complex and challenging projects and deals, which helps her to provide clients with sound advice on transactions, as well as regulatory and data privacy matters. While leading IT Offerings at Avanade, Julie worked on a significant number of complex client engagements involving Fortune 50 organizations, as well as various vendor agreements, within the IT Outsourcing, Cloud and XaaS areas. Julie has also held senior roles at Wind River Systems, Solekai Systems, and Doctor Design. Julie holds a number of information security and data privacy certifications, including: FIP, CIPP-E, CIPP-US, CIPM and CCSK. She has first-hand experience of leading a global organization through large-scale, company-wide implementation programs involving HIPAA, GDPR, CCPA, and other significant privacy regulations. This enables her to bridge both worlds of technology transactions and data privacy/cybersecurity, especially at the global level. |
